Dear Friends,

Words will never be adequate to express my feelings for the all that you have done to support me and our campaign for State Representative. I am sorry that I could not carry us to a victory, but that in no way is a reflection on the effort.

I deeply appreciate the hours of door-to-door canvassing, post card writing, and phone calling you have done in my behalf, in addition to your attendance at countless events and your personal financial support. We have nothing to hang our heads about or to regret. We have set a standard for the way campaigns should be waged, and we can take pride in the fact that we did so in a positive, issues oriented manner.

Teddy Roosevelt said. "It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory or defeat."

During this campaign we were able to experience victory in the Primary, and unfortunate defeat in the General Election. However, we can take solace in the fact that we were in the arena.

Lisa, Laurel, Craig, Danielle, and I will always have deep affection for your friendship and support over the past 7 months. We look forward to a continuance of that friendship in the months and years ahead. As for me, I do not know what the future holds, but at least I know who holds the future. I will place my faith in God that he will provide me the direction.
